On the 20th of October, 2020, BelMAPE participated in online conference “Botkin readings on bioethics, scientific ethics and artificial intelligence ethics during the outbreak of coronavirus COVID-19”, which had been organized on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Russian Medical Academy of Continuous Professional Education and the 110th anniversary of S. P. Botkin Moscow City Clinical Hospital. The conference was organized by the Russian Medical Academy of Continuous Professional Education of the Ministry of Health of Russia, M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, S. P. Botkin Moscow City Clinical Hospital of Moscow City Health Department.

The conference moderators were L. K. Mashetova — an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor, president of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Vocational Training “Russian Medical Academy of Continuous Professional Education” of the Ministry of Health of Russia,  honored doctor of the Russian Federation; D. А. Sychev — a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor, rector of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Vocational Training “Russian Medical Academy of Continuous Professional Education” of the Ministry of Health of Russia; А. G. Chuchalin — an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, professor, vice-president of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee, chairman of the Russian National Committee for  Bioethics, Scientific Ethics and Artificial Intelligence at the Russian Federation Commission for UNESCO; А. V. Shabunin — corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor, head doctor of S. P. Botkin Moscow City Clinical Hospital of the Moscow Department of Health, head surgeon of the Moscow Department of Health, head of the Department of Surgery of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Vocational Training “Russian Medical Academy of Continuous Professional Education” of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

The conference served as the main scientific platform of the issues of bioethics, scientific ethics and artificial intelligence ethics of the VIth International Scientific Congress «Globalistics — 2020 "Global problems and the Future of the Mankind"» under the official auspices of UNESCO and devoted to the 75th Anniversary of the organization.

Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education was represented by rector of the academy Aleksey Chukanov, vice-rector for research work Yuri Gain, vice-rector for clinical work А. V. Platonov, dean of the Faculty of Public Health and Healthcare Irina Tikhonenko, head of the Department of Public Health and Healthcare Marina Schaveleva. Also, the trainees, who are undergoing retraining courses at the Department of Public Health and Healthcare of BelMAPE, had the opportunity to listen to the reports, given at the conference.

Rector of BelMAPE, Aleksey Chukanov, in his welcoming speech to the conference participants noted that the cooperation with the Russian Committee for Bioethics is of great importance for the Republic of Belarus. Aleksey Chukanov thanked the Russian colleagues for the possibility to participate in such an important scientific forum and expressed confidence in further widening and strengthening of cooperation, aiming at the exchange of bioethics knowledge and skills among medical professionals of Belarus and Russia.
