The Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy was founded in 2000. From the time of its foundation, until 2002, it had been headed by professor V.V.Romanenko, Doctor of Medical Sciences, since 2002, by Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor A.V. Khapaliuk, since 2009 until the present time, it has been headed by A.G.Zakharenko.
Academic activities
The department offers advanced training and retraining courses in clinical pharmacology.
The courses of advanced training focus on the actual issues of diagnostics and treatment in therapy and are oriented to the practical needs of public health services. A special attention is given to pharmacotherapy of diseases of the internal organs based on the principles of demonstrative medicine and results of multicentral international researches.
The department offers advanced training courses on clinical pharmacology for clinical pharmacologists, teachers of clinical disciplines working at medical educational establishments, deputy chief doctors, therapists and surgeons, urologists, obstetricians, gynecologists, sports medicine doctors, clinical residents, pharmacists.
Retraining courses on clinical pharmacology are offered for physicians, who studied at Pediatrics Faculty and Faculty of General Medicine in medical universities.
Since 2009, there have been organized chargeable advanced training courses for pharmaceutists - «Clinical pharmacology in pharmaceutist’s practice». Since 2012, there have been organized chargeable courses for physicians of all specialties - «Rules for clinical trials of drugs (GCP) ».
