Meeting of the Deputy Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus with the staff of BelMAPE

On the 16th of March 2022, there had been held a meeting between the Deputy Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus Buzovsky Igor and specialists of BelMAPE.

At the meeting, Igor Buzovsky presented his report “Information component of the state policy of the Republic of Belarus”, emphasizing that now people are especially susceptible to information impact. Currently, the process of information exchange in society is characterized by high efficiency and intensity. The prevailing role of social networks, information news web-sites as information sources has been noted.

Igor Buzovsky noted that the media field of Belarus today is quite saturated. According to him, it is reasonable to talk about the reorientation of the main target function of the media from information, familiarization, relaying to the function of influence and targeted impact. The mass media are not becoming mass media, but the means of mass influence, they can be a unifier and educator of society, or they can also disintegrate the nation. Therefore, the media today is becoming one of the factors for ensuring national security, - said the Deputy Minister of Information.

During the meeting, issues of the development of the media and official Internet resources as the main conductors of the state information policy were also discussed. Igor Buzovsky noted that the printed press will always be a source that influences public consciousness, and its role in modern society should not be underestimated. He also focused on the activities aimed at preserving historical memory in our country, which is especially important at the present time. Therefore, the main task of the media today is the professional presentation of information to society, especially young people and the younger generation.

The event was attended by representatives of the administration, as well as the teaching staff of the academy. Summing up the past event, rector of the Academy Alexei Chukanov thanked the guest for a meaningful conversation, during which topical issues on the agenda of today were touched upon.
