Participation of BelMAPE at the republican seminar "Modern aspects of diagnosis and treatment of thyroid cancer"

On November 11, 2022, there had been held the republican seminar “Modern aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid cancer” at Minsk City Clinical Oncology Center.

The organizers of the event were Department of Oncology of BelMAPE and Minsk City Clinical Oncology Center.

At the seminar, reports were presented on modern methods of diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with tumors of the thyroid and parathyroid glands.

Head of the Department of Oncology of BelMAPE, Candidate of Medical Sciences, associate professor A. G. Zhukovets spoke about the world experience of using targeted therapy in the treatment of patients with metastatic well-differentiated thyroid cancer.

Other reports presented during the seminar also aroused great interest and discussion.

The seminar discussed issues of epidemiology, the state of diagnosis and treatment of medullary cancer, postoperative hypoparathyroidism, features of morphological and molecular diagnosis, radioiodine therapy, confocal laser microscopy in the diagnosis and treatment of parathyroid pathology, as well as rehabilitation and surgical complications after thyroidectomy.

The seminar was held in order to improve the professional level of doctors - oncologists, surgeons, endocrinologists - and further improve the provision of medical care to patients with malignant neoplasms of the thyroid gland.
