Representatives of BelMAPE Participated at the Republican Conference “Systemic Skeletal Dysplasia: Clinical Characteristics and Current Diagnostic Capabilities”

On the 1st of June 2022, there had been held the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference “Systemic Skeletal Dysplasia: Clinical Characteristics and Current Diagnostic Capabilities” at State Establishment «Republican Scientific and Practical Center «Mother and Child».

The conference was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus and State Institution "Republican Scientific and Practical Center "Mother and Child".

The conference was attended by dean of the Faculty of Public Health and Healthcare of BelMAPE, Candidate of Medical Sciences, associate professor Irina Tikhonenko and head of the Department of Pediatrics of BelMAPE, Candidate of Medical Sciences, associate professor Aleksey Pochkaylo.

The report prepared by head of the Department of Pediatrics of BelMAPE Aleksey Pochkaylo demonstrated the possibilities of providing medical care to young patients with osteogenesis imperfecta and other bone mineralization disorders in the Republic of Belarus, the achievements of the Republican Center for Pediatric Osteoporosis.

The report given by dean of the Faculty of Public Health and Healthcare of BelMAPE Irina Tikhonenko was devoted to those aspects of prenatal differential diagnosis of systemic skeletal dysplasia and fetal growth retardation syndrome, which provide optimization of patient management.

The conference was attended by geneticists, pathologists, laboratory diagnostics doctors, orthopedic traumatologists.

The conference demonstrated a well-coordinated multidisciplinary approach to the solving of the problems of diagnosis, management, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with systemic skeletal dysplasia.
