Republican Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation "Actual Issues of Traditional Chinese Medicine" was held at BelMAPE

On the 6th of December, 2022, the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference with international participation "Actual Issues of Traditional Chinese Medicine" was held at BelMAPE.

Rector of the Academy Alexei Chukanov addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech, who noted that medicine, education and science remain the most important priorities of our state and the prospects for the development of social policy are largely related to the development of healthcare. He also noted the active participation of the Department of Reflexology of BelMAPE in the implementation of the Directive of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated December 3, 2021 No. 9 "On the development of bilateral relations between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China".

On behalf of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, Tatyana Perepetskaya, head of the Medical Expertise Department of the Main Directorate for Control of Medical Activities and Circulation of Medicines, addressed the participants of the conference and noted the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of using reflexotherapy methods and their widespread introduction into healthcare practice, as well as the fact that reflexology is one of the promising and one of the dynamically developing areas of modern medicine, and the methods of reflexology and Traditional Chinese Medicine are used in many medical institutions of the Republic of Belarus.

Perepetskaya T.T. noted that the development of non-traditional methods of treatment is carried out in cooperation with specialists from the People's Republic of China. During the official visit of the delegation of the State Administration for Traditional Chinese Medicine, a memorandum of cooperation in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine was signed, which is the basis for further cooperation. In 2021, there had been launched the procedure of registration of the drugs of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which can also be used for the treatment and prevention of complications, caused by coronavirus infection.

The conference was attended by both leading specialists of the Republic of Belarus and foreign speakers on topical issues of scientific and practical application of the methods of reflexology and Traditional Chinese Medicine in practical healthcare.

There had been invited the following representatives from the People's Republic of China:

• Professor Jianqiao Fang, Former President of Zhejiang Chinese Medicine University . Lecture title: “Clinical study on acupuncture labor pain”;
• Professor Chengping Wen, Vice President of Zhejiang Chinese Medicine University. Lecture title: “The practice and guidelines for Covid-19 treatment with Traditional Chinese Medicine”.

The conference was attended by chief freelance specialists from the health departments of regional executive committees and the city of Minsk, reflexologists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation doctors, sports medicine doctors, BelMAPE lecturers, graduate students, clinical residents.

The relevance and practical orientation of the presentations of the speakers was highly appreciated during the final discussion following the results of the conference. Discussion of the most important aspects of the use of reflexology and traditional Chinese medicine will increase the level of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, exchange clinical experience, obtain information about advanced technologies and use them more effectively in clinical practice.
