Aleksei Pochkailo

Aleksei Pochkailo was born in Minsk in 1979. In 1998, he graduated from Minsk Medical College №1 with a specialty in nursing.

In 2005, Aleksei Pochkailo graduated from Belarusian State Medical University, Pediatrics Faculty, with distinction. After the internship in pediatrics and work as a pediatrician at the 11th Minks Children's Polyclinic, Aleksei Pochkailo started PhD course at the Department of Outpatient Pediatrics of BelMAPE.  

In 2009, he defended Candidate’s thesis. In 2014, he got the academic title of an associate professor in clinical medicine. Aleksei Pochkailo has the highest qualification category.

Since 2009, he worked as a teacher apprentice at the Department of Outpatient Pediatrics of BelMAPE. In 2010, he started to work as an assistant, and since 2013 – as an associate professor at the same department. Since 2019, he had been working as head of the Department of Outpatient Pediatrics of BelMAPE, since 2021 – as head of the Department of Pediatrics of BelMAPE.

Aleksei Pochkailo is a member of the Council of Pediatrics Board of BelMAPE, Council of BelMAPE, Research and Methodological Council of BelMAPE, Science and Engineering Board of the program «Mother and child health is a basis of the nations’ health» of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, a member of the subcommission of the Republican Qualification Commission for the assignment of qualification categories to medical and pharmaceutical personnel with secondary specialized education, a member of the subcommission on pediatrics of the Qualification Commission of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, an expert in drugs пapplied in neonatology and pediatrics.

Aleksei Pochkailo carries out treatment and advisory work at clinical bases of BelMAPE (Minsk Regional Children’s Hospital, the 4th City Children’s Clinical Hospital of Minsk, the 6th City Children’s Outpatient Clinic of Minsk, the Republican Children’s Hospital of Medical Rehabilitation) and other healthcare organizations. Aleksei Pochkailo renders medical care to patients with imperfect osteogenesis and other disorders of bone mineralization, carries out general follow-up; he manages the Republican Center for Children’s Osteoporosis (at Minsk Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital). He also works at Professor’s Advisory Center of BelMAPE.

In accordance with the order of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksei Pochkailo was provided with the Grant 2017 of the President in healthcare. For the successes achieved in improving of the quality and accessibility of medical care to the population and for his great personal contribution to the development of the healthcare system, he was awarded an honorary diploma from the Healthcare Institution "Minsk Regional Children's Clinical Hospital" (2015), certificates of honor of the main health department of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee (2017, 2020). A.S. Pochkailo carries out extensive work to promote and form the principles of a healthy lifestyle among students of the Academy and the population. In 2012, for the totality of the results obtained, Aleksei Pochkailo was awarded the International Prize of the International Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Countries "Commonwealth of Debuts-2012" for young specialists in the field of sports and healthy lifestyles in the nomination: "For scientific and practical achievements and charitable activities in the field of health ".

Aleksei Pochkailo is actively involved into scientific work. He is an author of 160 scientific publications. Repeatedly he took part in the work of domestic and foreign scientific forums (in Austria, Spain, Serbia,
Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Poland, Netherlands, Greece, etc.), gave scientific reports at more than 300 city, regional, republican and international scientific events. Aleksei Pochkailo was awarded the Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Belarus as a talented young scientist of 2011. He is a member of the editorial board of the collection of scientific papers "Modern perinatal medical technologies in solving problems of demographic security."

Aleksei Pochkailo takes an active part in social and cultural work, events organized by the department, academy, republican governing bodies. A.S. Pochkailo is a member of a number of public associations (“Belarusian Association of Physicians”, “Belarusian Society of the Red Cross”, etc.). He is a member of the public association "Republican Society of Pediatricians" (Republic of Belarus). Aleksei Pochkailo is the secretary, member of the presidium and responsible for the pediatric sector of the Belarusian public association "Let’s defeat osteoporosis together", actively participates in scientific and public events held by the association; for his personal contribution and active work in the activities of society for the benefit of domestic science and practice in solving the problems of osteoporosis, he was noted with gratitude from the Presidium of the BOO (2017).

The field of scientific and practical interest is disorders of bone mineralization in children, actual problems of modern pediatrics.
