Professor of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology of BelMAPE, Doctor of Medical Sciences, traumatologist of the highest qualification category, head of the Traumatology and Orthopedic Department №1 of Minsk Regional Clinical Hospital.
Alexei Maslov was born in 1962 in the town of Stolin, Brest region, in a family of teachers.
From 1979 to 1985: Minsk State Medical Institute, Faculty of General Medicine.
From 1985 to 1988: traumatologist of Traumatology Division №1 of Minsk Emergency Hospital.
From 1988 to 1998: traumatologist in Minsk Regional Clinical Hospital.
Since 1998, he had been working as head of Traumatology and Orthopedic Department No. 1 of Minsk Regional Clinical Hospital.
From 1998 to 2019: he worked as a chief visiting traumatologist of the main Department for Healthcare of Minsk Regional Executive Committee.
Since 1998 - an assistant, since 2003 – an associate professor, since 2019 - professor of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education.
Activities of Alexei Maslov are associated with the development and implementation of arthroscopic surgery, arthroplasty, oncoorthopedics in the Republic of Belarus.
In 1995, for the first time in the Republic of Belarus, Alexei Maslov introduced arthroscopy of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip and ankle joints, microarthroscopy into the clinical practice.
In 1999, he defended candidate’s thesis entitled «Arthroscopic diagnostics and treatment of meniscus injuries. Risk factors for the development of chondromalacia».
In 2014, he defended Doctoral thesis entitled «Osseointegration properties and clinical efficacy of reinforced cementless hip endoprosthesis».
Since 2000, Alexei Maslov has been developing methods of organ-preserving operations on the extremities in the complex treatment of bone sarcomas in children. For the first time in Belarus, Alexei Maslov introduced rotational plastics of the lower limb (2005), arthroplasty of the elbow joint (2008), arthroplasty of the ankle joint (2009), total replacement of the humerus (2008), tibia and femur (2009) with arthroplasty of two adjacent joints.
He did internships in Orthopedic Clinics in Germany (1994, 1997, 2000), Austria (1995) and Japan (1998), France (2018).
He is a member of the Association of Orthopedic Traumatologists of Belarus, the American Association of Traumatologists and Orthopedists (AAOS), a member of the Academic Council for the defense of dissertations at the State Institution of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics.
He represented the achievements of domestic orthopedics and made reports at numerous foreign congresses and conferences of international associations (Spain, 1997; PRC 2008; Thailand 2009; Austria, 2009; Sweden, 2010; Czech Republic, 2011; United Arab Emirates, 2012).
2005: Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
2008: he got the title of "The best surgeon of the Republic of Belarus".
In 2010, he was awarded the medal "For Labor Merit".
He has 6 patents for invention and over 130 publications in domestic and foreign editions.
