Associate professor, Candidate of Medical Sciences
After the graduation from Minsk State Medical Institute, Elena Ostapenko worked as a therapist at Rudensk Regional Hospital № 2, afterwards – at Minsk Regional Clinical Hospital.
After finishing clinical residency, she started to work as a junior research worker at the Scientific and Research Institute of Cardiology.
In 1980, Elena Ostapenko started her PhD course at the Department of Intermediate Level Therapy of Minsk State Medical Institute, which she successfully completed, defending her Candidate’s thesis entitled «Hemodynamics and peculiarities of diagnostics of vegetative–dysovarian myocardiodystrophy».
From 1982 to 1989, Elena Ostapenko worked as an assistant at the Department of Intermediate Level Therapy of Minsk State Medical Institute.
Since 1989, she had been working as an assistant at the Department of Emergency Medical Care of Belarusian State Institute for Advanced Medical Training, and then – as an associate professor of the Department of General Medical Practice of BelMAPE.
Elena Ostapenko is an author of more than 200 publications, including the manual for physician «Emergency conditions» (1995), which was republished in 2002 and 2013, a coauthor of the books «The practical manual on general medical practice» (2003) and «A course of lectures on general medical practice» (2013).
She has the highest qualification category in therapy.
Elena Ostapenko participated in the international project PrimCareIT.
She is a member of the editorial board of the journal «General Practitioner». Elena Ostapenko got a reward for the excellence in healthcare of the Republic of Belarus and honorary certificates of BelMAPE and Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus (2013, 2014, 2018).
