Elena Zhuk

In 1989, Elena Zhuk graduated from Minsk State Medical Institute with distinction.

From 1989 to 1990 - internship in obstetrics and gynecology;

From 1990 to 1996 – a gynecologist in an antenatal clinic in Minsk;

From 1996 to 1998 – clinical residency on oncology at Aleksandrov Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Oncology and Medical Radiology;

From 1998 to 2001 -  a gynecologist in an antenatal clinic in Minsk;

In 2001 – an ultrasound specialist at Minsk Regional Maternity Hospital;

From 2001 to 2006 – a PhD student of the Department of Radiodiagnostics;

From 2006 to 2009 – an assistant of the Department of Radiodiagnostics of Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education;

Since 2009 until the present – an associate professor of the Department of Radiodiagnostics of Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education;

Since 2008 until the present – physician of the MRI room of X-ray Unit of Aleksandrov Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Oncology and Medical Radiology.

In 2006, Elena Zhuk defended her Candidate’s thesis entitled «X-ray ultrasound diagnostics of chronic proctosigmoiditis» on diagnostic radiology and X-ray therapy.

In 2010, she got the academic title of an associate professor on the specialty "Clinical medicine".

In 2013, Elena Zhuk got the highest qualification category.

She regularly participates at international scientific congresses on radiology and oncology in Europe and CIS countries.

Membership:

Elena Zhuk is a member of the European Society of Radiology and the Belarusian Society of Radiologists.

Scientific interests:

Ultrasound X-ray diagnostics, computer tomography and magnetic and resonance tomography of inflammatory and colon tumor diseases;

Three dimensional ultrasound, computer tomography and magnetic and resonance tomography with the application of diffusion-weighted imaging of female reproductive organs;

Planning of radiotherapy, evaluation of the efficiency of treatment of cervical cancer.

Elena Zhuk is an author of 62 publications, 4 educational guides, 3 instructions for use, and 5 patents.
