Evgeny Lasy

Evgeny Lasy was born in 1965. In 1988, he graduated from Minsk State Medical Institute in general medicine. He did internship in therapy and worked as a general practitioner. He got his first specialization in psychiatry at the Department of Psychiatry of Belarusian State Institute for Advanced Medical Training; from 1992 to 1995, he worked as a psychiatrist at the Republican Clinical Psychiatric Hospital. Afterwards, he underwent clinical residency and then PhD course at the Department of Psychiatry. In 1999, he defended Candidate’s thesis entitled «Suicidal behavior of patients with schizophrenia».

Since 1999, Evgeny Lasy has been working at the Department of Psychiatry and Narcology of BelMAPE, at present – as an associate professor. In 2010, Evgeny Lasy graduated from Moscow Institute of Psychoanalysis. At present, he undergoes training at Psychoanalytic Institute for Eastern Europe (Han Groen-Prakken Psychoanalytic Institute for Eastern Europe).

Evgeny Lasy is a member of Minsk Psychoanalytical Society Board, vice-president of the Belarusian Psychiatric Association, a member of the European Psychiatric Association. His scientific interests are the following ones: research on risk factors and prevention of suicidal behavior, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, development of psychodynamic principles in psychiatry and psychopharmacotherapy. He is an author and coauthor of 96 scientific works.
