Galina Vashkevich

In 1999 Galina Vashkevich graduated from Minsk State Medical Institute, Faculty of General Medicine.

From 2002 to 2004 she underwent clinical residency at the Department of Ophthalmology of State Belarusian Medical University.

In 2013 she defended her Candidate’s thesis entitled «Surgical treatment of refractory glaucoma with the application of amniotic membrane».

Galina Vashkevich is an author of more than 20 printed works, 3 teaching manuals, 3 patents and 1 instruction for use. Annually, she participates at international forums and conferences with reports.

Her main scientific interests: diagnostics and treatment of glaucoma, surgery of glaucoma, refractory glaucoma, healing pathologies.

Other scientific interests: functional diagnostics (electrophysiology) and visualization in ophthalmology, diagnostics and treatment of glaucoma, surgery of glaucoma, refractory glaucoma, neuroophthalmology, retina diseases.

Galina Vashkevich undertook the following courses abroad:

• a training course on electrophysiological research methods and fluorescent angiography at Moscow Scientific Research Institute of Ophthalmic Disease (Helmholtz) (Moscow, Russia), 2006;
• a training course of European Glaucoma Society for European residents  with a course of Wet-lab on present-day glaucoma surgery (3rd EGS European Residents Glaucoma Course, Geneva, Switzerland), 2009;
• a training course in Ophthalmology Clinic of Julius Maximilians University, Wurzburg, Germany (Universitäts-Augenklinik Würzburg, Germany), 2008.
