Irina Chizhevskaya

In 1994, Irina Chizhevskaya graduated from Minsk State Medical Institute, Pediatrics Faculty. She did internship at Pinsk Children’s Hospital, where she afterwards had been working as a pediatrician. From 2003 to 2005, she underwent clinical residency at the Department of Pediatrics of BelMAPE, after the completion of which she continued to work as a leading laboratory assistant at the department. From 2008, she had been working as an assistant there, since 2011 - as an associate professor of the Department of Pediatrics. From 2014 to 2017, she worked as head of the Rheumatology Unit of the 4th Minsk Children’s Clinical Hospital. From August, 2017, to December 2020, she worked as head of the Department of Pediatrics.

In 2007, Irina Chizhevskaya defended Candidate’s thesis in pediatrics.

In 2010, Irina Chizhevskaya did retraining course on cardiology at the Department of Cardiology and Rheumatology of BelMAPE; in 2019, she did retraining on ultrasound diagnostics at the Department of Ultrasound Diagnostics of BelMAPE. 

She has the highest qualification category. 

In 2012, she got the academic title of associate professor in clinical medicine.

From 2012 to 2020, she was chief visiting pediatric cardiorheumatologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus. From 2014 to 2020, she was in charge of the Republican Center for Pediatric Cardiorheumatology.

She regularly conducted master-classes, seminars and problem conferences. The results of scientific researches carried out by Irina Chizhevskaya received recognition abroad, as evidenced by her publications in European magazines and her speeches at international conferences and congresses: at annual European Rheumatology Congress EULAR (2014, Paris; 2017, Madrid), at Mediterranean Rheumatology Congress MCR (2014, Istanbul; 2018, Genoa), at European Congress of Pediatric Rheumatologists (2014, Belgrade; 2016, Genoa; 2018, Лиссабон, 2020, Prague on-line), at Systemic Sclerosis World Congress (2016, Лиссабон).

Irina Chizhevskaya is author and coauthor of more than 200 research publications, including 4 monographs, 2 practical guides, 11 guidance manuals, 2 patents for invention, 6 instructions for use, approved by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus and etc.

Irina Chizhevskaya was a member of the Expert Commission of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus on the issues of cardiovascular pathology, an expert of the Republican Formulary Commission (on medicines used in rheumatology), a member of the Council of BelMAPE, a member of the Scientific Council of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center "Mother and Child", a member of the Scientific and Technical Council of BelMAPE, a member of the Scientific and Technical Council for the sectoral scientific and technical program "Maternal and Child Health is the Basis of the Health of the Nation", a chairman of the Qualification Commission for conducting tests for  specialists with higher medical education and recognition of the qualification «a pediatrician», a deputy chairman of the Subcommittee of the Republican Qualification Commission of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus for the assignment of qualification categories to pediatricians.

Irina Chizhevskaya is a member of the Belarusian Association of Physicians, Belarusian Society of Rheumatologists (vice chairman), Belarusian Public Association «Let’s fight osteoporosis together», Association of Rheumatologists of Russia (АРР), Association of Pediatric Cardiologists of Russia, Pediatric Rheumatology European Society, a member of the Committee on Pediatric Rheumatology EULAR, a member of the Pediatric Rheumatology International Trials Organization (PRINTO).

She annually speaks on the radio and television; she is an expert of the program "Children's Doctor" on the channel "Belarus 1", publishes popular science materials in the media related to the prevention, diagnostics and treatment of the diseases of the circulatory system and musculoskeletal system in children.

Irina Chizhevskaya was a winner of the competition «Doctor of the Year» in 2015 in the nomination «pediatrician»; she was awarded a Diploma of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus as a participant of the final stage of the competition «Doctor of the Year of the Republic of Belarus» in 2015 in the nomination «pediatrician». Irina Chizhevskaya got a reward for the excellence in healthcare (2018).
