Irina Gankova

Associate professor, Candidate of Medical Sciences, ultrasound specialist of the highest qualification category

Since 2012 until the present, Irina Gankova has been working at the Department of Ultrasound Diagnostics of Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education.

In 1978, Irina Gankova graduated from Kiev Medical Institute with a specialty in General Medicine.

From 1978 to 1985, she worked as a junior research worker at the Department of Influenza and Acute Respiratory Diseases at Kiev Scientific and Research Institute of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases.

Since 1985 she had been working as a head of the Department of Ultrasound Diagnostics of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

In 1999, Irina Gankova was called to active military service to the post of head of the Department of Ultrasound Diagnostics, which she had been performing until 2012. In 2012, she was dismissed as a colonel.

In October, 2001, she was appointed to the position of professor of the Department of Military Surgery of Military Medical Academy.

From 2006 to 2012, Irina Gankova had been working as an associate professor of the Department of Military Surgery.

Her main scientific interests are the following ones: ultrasound doppler diagnostics of kidney diseases, space-occupying lesions of the kidney, cardiorenal hypertension, kidney obstruction.

Irina Gankova is an author of 43 scientific works (1 monograph, 21 articles, 19 theses, 2 patents for invention).

Irina Gankova has made reports at more than 30 scientific conferences (two times at the European Congress of Radiologists in Vienna, Annual Conference on Urogynecology in Melbourne, Australia, Congresses of the Association of Ultrasound Specialists of Ukraine and Ukrainian Doppler Club.

In Minsk, she made reports at the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference «Actual Issues of Ultrasound Diagnostics», (Minsk, November, 2012), City Scientific and Practical Seminar «Actual Issues of Ultrasound Diagnostics in Gastroenterology», Minsk, December, 2012.
