Sergei Kazakov

Sergei Kazakov was born in the town of Omsk. In 1990, he graduated from Omsk State Medical Institute with a specialty in General Medicine. He did internship and then worked as a physician at the Cardiology Unit of industrial hospital of Omsk Motor-Building Association named after Baranov. In 1992, he got the primary specialization in endocrinology at the Department of Endocrinology of Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education. In 1995, Sergei Kazakov defended his Candidate’s thesis. From 1995 to 2003, he worked as an assistant at the Department of Hospital Therapy of Omsk State Medical Academy. He did advanced training courses on endocrinology, gastroenterology, nephrology, therapy. Sergei Kazakov worked as an associate professor at the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases of Belarusian State Medical University (2003 - 2010).

Sergei Kazakov initiated implementation of new forms of education. From 2004 to 2006, he gave lectures on molecular and clinical endocrinology at International Sakharov Environmental Institute. In 2007, he organized the elective course «Propaedeutics of Evidence Based Medicine» at the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Diseases of Belarusian State Medical University. He was also a coauthor of the electronic test system for students on propaedeutics of internal diseases.

Since 2010, he has been working as an associate professor at the Department of Cardiology and Resuscitation of Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education. Working at the department, Sergei Kazakov took additional courses: retraining courses on cardiology in 2010, retraining courses  on roentgen-endovascular surgery in 2019, courses on researches “Clinical trials by the rules GCP” in 2019, seminar on lipid metabolism in Salzburg (OMI Salzburg Medical Seminars, International Atherosclerosis Society - Salzburg Weill Cornell Seminar), courses on clinical endocrinology at Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, courses on programmation of implanted antibradycardia and     antitachycardia devices (BelMAPE, seminars on Medtronic, St Jude Medical, Abbott, Biotronik, Boston Scientific). Sergei Kazakov worked in the room of control and programmation of electrocardiostimulators at Minsk City Clinical Hospital № 1.

Sergei Kazakov is a member of the Belarusian Scientific Society of Cardiologists, European Society of Cardiology (ESC), International Atherosclerosis Society (IAS). He conducts medical advisory work at the Anesthesiology Unit of Minsk City Clinical Hospital № 1, Professor's Advisory Medical Center of Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, Republican Center for Emergency Medical Care.
The priority issues at the department: diseases with metabolic pathogenesis in cardiology, analysis of hemostasis and application of anticoagulants in cardiology, symptomatic arterial hypertension, medical care for patients with implanted antibradycardia and     antitachycardia devices.

Sergei Kazakov is an author of more than 80 publications, 4 innovation proposals; coauthor of the book «Practical nephrology».
