Yuri Rogov was born in the family of a military officer in the city of Postdam (Germany). In 1974, Yuri Rogov graduated from Ryazan Medical Institute named after I.P.Pavlov with distinction. From 1974 to 1975, he did internship in pathology in Ryazan. From 1975 to 1978, Yuri Rogov worked as head of the Interdistrict Pathology Unit of Sasov Central Regional Hospital of Ryazan region. From 1978 to 1980, he worked as a pathologist at the hospital No. 11 in Ryazan. From 1980 to 1981, Yuri Rogov worked as a pathologist at the Minsk Clinical Hospital for Emergency Medical Care. Since 1981, he has been working as a pathologist at the Pathology Unit of the 9th City Clinical Hospital of Minsk (later renamed into the City Clinical Pathological Bureau).
From 1983 to 1990, Yuri Rogov worked as an assistant at the Department of Pathological Anatomy of Minsk Medical Institute. In 1990-1996, he worked as a leading researcher at the Laboratory of Morphology and Cytogenetics of the Institute of Radiobiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. In 1996, he headed the course of pathological anatomy, first created at the Department of Emergency Surgery of Belarusian Institute for Advanced Medical Training. From 1996 to 2004, Yuri Rogov was in charge of the advanced training and retraining courses for physicians and pathologists. From 2004 to 2006, he worked as an associate professor at the Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, being in charge of the course of pathological anatomy.
In March 2006, Yuri Rogov started to work as head of the Department of Pathological Anatomy of Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education. In February 2010, due to the entry of the Department of Pathological Anatomy into the structure of the Department of Surgery of BelMAPE, he started to work as an associate professor of the Department of Surgery.
Since 1996 until the present, Yuri Rogov, together with other specialists, has been creating educational advanced training and retraining programs of pathological anatomy for Belarusian physicians, presentations of lectures. He has been organizing lectures and practical sessions and preparing histological samples.
Yuri Rogov constantly improves his professional level. He participated in the following seminars and conferences: international courses on surgical pathology (Pilsen, the Czech Republic, 2006), international seminar on the pathology of skin and soft tissues (Krnov, the Czech Republic, 2007), Salzburg Seminar on Pathology (2009, 2011), the 2nd international seminar on uropathology (Frymburk, the Czech Republic, 2009), International Courses on Salivary Gland Pathology (Stockholm, Sweden, 2010), International Seminar on Dermatopathology and Soft Tissue Tumors (Frymburk, Czech Republic, 2011), conference with international participation "Pathology today - immunomorphology and molecular genetics in diagnostic practice" (Moscow, Russia, 2012), International seminar on the diagnostics of lymphomas (Frankfurt, Germany, 2015), International seminar on CD30-positive lymphomas (Santander, Spain, 2015), more than 20 international congresses and conferences in different countries.
He has the highest qualification category (1993).
In 1988, Yuri Rogov defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled "Changes of the nervous cell fund and mass of the human cervicothoracic ganglion during aging." He is an author of 470 publications, including the monographs "Morphological diagnosis of surgical pathology of the thyroid gland" (2006), "Lectures on pathological anatomy" (2006), "Tumors and tumor-like diseases of the thyroid gland" (2007) . He got the academic title of associate professor in 1998.
From 2004 to 2011, he was a chief visiting pathologist and a member of the Medical and Control Council of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.
Yuri Rogov is a member of the Board of the Public Association "Belarusian Scientific Society of Pathologists". For several years, he was a member of the working group of the Interdepartmental Commission on Forensic Activities under the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus (2005-2008). He is a member of the Republican Attestation Commission on the specialty "Pathological Anatomy".
Yuri Rogov is a member of the European Society of Pathologists. He regularly participates with reports at the European congresses on pathology (since 2003).
In 2007, 2011 and 2015, he did internship in pathology laboratories in the USA.
Yuri Rogov regularly renders advisory medical care to patients of healthcare establishments in Minsk and other places of the Republic of Belarus.
He was awarded with certificates of honor of the Academy, Health Department of Minsk Regional Executive Committee, the badge "Excellence in healthcare".
